Suriname and French Guiana extend military cooperation

The acting commander of the National Army (NL) and also commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant Colonel Marven van Huisduinen, together with Brigadier General Marc Le Bouil, commander of the French armed forces in French Guiana, signed an agreement for the continuation of military cooperation between the two countries in the year 2024.

The signing took place during the visit of Brigadier General Le Bouil and his delegation to Suriname for the twelfth regional meeting on military exchange – France/French Guiana (XII RREM) from 23 to 25 November 2023. The agreement includes agreements on training and training for the National Army, joint exercises, patrols, information exchange and possible mutual support.
